Retro look lacks modern protection December 22, 2008 JamesM (MD) As soon as you try to close it up, you will see that this case is more about you posing with your camera than actually protecting it. When closed, the case halves do not even rest against each other, but leave a gap of about 5mm along two sides. I am guessing that if I am not willing to risk my lowly, but similarly bodied, Panasonic LX2, you are not going to feel comfortable trusting it with your Leica D-Lux 3. Leica would do better than to allow its name on something with such poor tolerances.

The case is good quality and good looking it is easy to get the camera in and out when wearing the case on my belt. The magnetic catch can be stronger.
Classic stylish look with good protective qualities too October 21, 2008 E. Ballard (Somewhere out WEST) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
As someone who judges a lot of things based on looks I can honestly say that I shelled out the money for this case just because I thought it looked cool. That being said, I have been pleasantly surprised by the protective function of the leather case too. It offers plenty of protection for me to throw the camera into the baby bag, but it looks so great that I don't mind wearing it around my neck. It's the sort of case that will make you feel more like a casual photographer and less of a tourist. Yes it was pricey, but the camera inside was too, so you might as well spend a little more to keep it safe.
Yes to what she said but... September 3, 2008 Jaime Lacayo (Rep. of Panama) 4 out of 6 found this review helpful
The strap is so thin that it's mostly for females, I have mine without the straps because they look very girly.
Good Looking & Protective Case June 25, 2008 Boyd DiPalma (USA) 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
This is a very attractive accessory that will get compliments from strangers. It is a bit bulky and adds a lot of size to the D-LUX but it is protective, very well made and quite sexy.
