Just missed December 29, 2008 William D. Newhouse (Rockville, MD USA) The clock lost a minute or two within hours of being set. I don't understand why an HD radio does not sync to a radio station's time signal (seems like a no brainer, but perhaps isn't part of the digital radio spec). The remote is awkward in that the location of the volume buttons on the circle in the middle of the remote are top and bottom but on the radio are the volume controls are left and right on the main control circle. The HD reception was not very good. It would find an HD signal and show 5 bars of signal strength and then a few minutes later it would drop the HD signal and have to resynch (once again showing 5 bars). Each resynch caused an brief audio echo as the content went from digital to analog. I tried several antennas and antenna orientations and the problem existed with all arrangements. I ran the radio next to another make of HD radio and this Jensen lost a signal while the other radio did not. The HD reception problem occured regardless of which Wash DC area HD station I tuned into. Perhaps, I got a bad unit, I am returning it and do not plan on asking for a replacement.
Pretty good for the price December 27, 2008 R. Marmon (Avondale, AZ) I bought this radio to receive HD radio at a reasonable price and it does that well. The sound is ok, but not great. The ipod dock works fine and is a nice touch.
Don't get this, defective line of product December 23, 2008 C. Ko (San Francisco, CA USA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Don't get this. I've gone through 2 of them and withing 1 week both exhibit the same problem. If your alarm goes off at 7am and continues to play the radio till 7:24am, the clock will freeze up and display 27:24 as the time from then on. The only way to reset is unplugging the power cord and resetting everything. This thing should be recalled to fix this issue.
Excellent Product December 21, 2008 Chris M. Petrie (Olympia, WA) This was a great product, it sounds great and is everything I could have wanted. Seller was very quick to ship, I got standard shipping and still got it in about 4 days.
good value December 14, 2008 K. Hughes (Minneapolis, MN) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Just got the radio. It's fun to see what HD stations are available PROS: relatively inexpensive - contrary to what's listed in the instructions, the radio WILL turn on directly into an HD subchannel - the alarm settings include a volume control, so you won't inadvertently blast yourself in the morning if you changed the volume the last time you listened to the radio CONS: the memory presets can only be set and accessed thru the remote - what happens if/when you lose the remote? - there's a delay when pushing any control button (volume, changing stations, etc) - have to play with the reception/antenna a bit
