Product Description 200 Watt Max Step Down Converter Converts 220/240 V to 110/120 V Ideal for fax machines, computers, typewriters and light portable equipment. Transformer Purchase Guide: Remember to leave at least a 60%-70% slack for the transformer. For the TVs, the power surge margin is 5 times the wattage of the TV. Heating appliances, laser printers and power tools spike when you turn them on. For these products you need to buy a transformer that is at least 3 times the items capacity. CANNOT BE USED WITH HEATING APPLIANCES SUCH AS COOKERS, KETTLES OR HAIR STRAIGHTNERS, HAIR DRYERS, CURLING IRONS, TV OR POWER TOOLS.

Worked great in China December 28, 2008 T. W. Altermatt Took this on a 2-week trip to China and used it to recharge my iPod and camera batteries. Worked flawlessly. Nice that it has a long plug so it's not hanging on the outlet. Kind of heavy (feels like half a brick) but otherwise perfect.
Perfectly adequate December 20, 2008 Wayne Evans I agree with the other reviewer about the pigtail plug rather than one attached to the adaptor - also makes it easier to plug on to power strip. Using it to power my VoIP adaptor and it works fine - not sure how it would go at the full 200W though - it is warm running the 25W adaptor - suspect it wouldn't handle a continuous 200W... Great deal for the price :)
beware of popping the fuse December 12, 2008 J. Kim (southern california) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I used this in Korea, and it worked well for all my cameras, laptops and tech products. I noted a previous review about hair curling irons, and I tried it, and it worked well. Here is something to note about hair dryers, however. It was working well in cold mode, and I increased it, and then popped a fuse. Just make sure the voltage is less than 200 Watts, and it will work fine. Otherwise, the fuse will pop, and the product is useless, as well as your other products that you need charged. So, I had to buy one locally anyway.
Excellent reliability October 23, 2008 Prak (GA) 9 out of 9 found this review helpful
I bought this product in 2002. Its still running for six years. I've kept it turned on for days together. Never heats up and has never let me down. Wonderful product.
Perfect for Europe!! August 5, 2008 David Umphrey 18 out of 18 found this review helpful
Perfect for electronics (I used it for my laptop and my Blackberry)! I left it plugged in for several weeks with no overheating issues. Also, the "pigtail" plug is perfect: Most transformers have the plug attached and can be very heavy and clunky when hanging from a socket.
