HP 100 DreamScreen 10 inch August 9, 2010 BoBo (Indy, IN, USA) As a non-techie, I can't speak to the technical specifications of the HP DreamScreen like some of the other reviewers. I'm just an average technology user who wanted an attractive, solid, easy to use, everyday digital picture frame and the HP DreamScreen fits the bill. It is sleek, well-made, with a solid metal stand that won't break the first time my cat accidentally brushes against it. It has a picture quality that meets my expectations and that seem comparable to my previous frames (a PanDigital and a Kodak). However, in addition to the pictures, the wireless connectivity allows access to other "bonus" features, particularly Pandora. At the low volume levels I use while working at my desk or in my office, the audio quality is great. I also like the Weather station and the Internet radio features. There are additional features I have yet to explore. However, having purchased two previous frames, both over $200, and both of which never made it longer than a year due to the flimsy plastic stand that most frames come with, I'm delighted with the HP DreamScreen. My only regret is that I didn't purchase the larger version.
Good Item/Many Features July 25, 2010 Michael Meeker (Miami, FL USA) Many positives for this item: Many features, Music, Weather, Photos, Facebook, Internet Radio, etc.... The one negative I've found is that it takes a little time to load between apps...
Set your expectations July 15, 2010 Bernard De Lisi 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This is not a slam but be warned, the unit is slow... not slow like my grandmother trying to get to the point of her story but slow like waiting for elevator doors to open. Once you in a particular app the thing rocks like a 70's hair band on heroine. The internal speakers are so-so but if you connect to something like a sound bar the sound is much better. The look is sleek and it took me a week to realize it had a quasi touchscreen. The DreamScreen won't cause you to wake up with wood, but its far from being a nightmare.
Good Mom frame July 8, 2010 Melinda K. Carroll I wanted this so I could have my four children's photos (many, of course) in one place; since house space is limited I can have as many as I want. Also, I can have short video to watch, and I can access the weather whenever I want. Also, I have it set to auto-on and -off, and this is a great feature. Picture quality is outstanding-better than the last frame I had. Would definitely recommend to all. I must admit I am not a geek, so my husband did set it up for me. It did not look too difficult. Enjoy!
Great addition to my Electronic Collection June 6, 2010 Sires (It's a Toss Up Right Now) I really like the size and the way the Dreamscreen looks. It's unobtrusive if turned off-- I'm not much of a digital picture frame fan so I don't leave the slideshow running all of the time. However, I do use it to watch videos-- AVI, MP4 (non DMR'd) and H.264. I use a piece of shareware I discovered on the net (AlltoAvi) to convert my other video files to one of the supported file types.
I wouldn't in the least mind have a couple more of these to sit around the house in places where I do things that I could use a bit of distraction either audio, visual or both-- on my desk, in the kitchen, on the bed side table. In fact, if it had a microphone and access to Skype and my wireless door camera, it would be a really handy item indeed.
